1. You would use coinbase.com or gemini.com to purchase Bitcoin. You would then transfer to an exchange like www.bittrex.com. You would then be able to transfer Bitcoin to buy the altcoins.

2. We do provide instructions and we have support to help you in case you need it.

3. There is a way for you to use your IRA but it is a little more in-depth. You need to open a trust account and then have fidelity fund the trust account and then you can invest. It is called a checkbook IRA.
